The SmartElex BS612 PIR Motion Sensor is a compact and digitally enhanced infrared motion sensor that offers reliable human detection for automation and security systems. It integrates a pyroelectric sensor with a digital intelligent control circuit, housed in an electromagnetically shielded enclosure for high noise immunity.

The BS612 PIR Motion Sensor converts movement into an ADC digital signal, and outputs a timed REL signal when motion is detected beyond a defined threshold. With a sensing range of up to 12 meters, 120° wide field of view, ultra-low power consumption, and adjustable sensitivity, the BS612 is ideal for motion-triggered lighting, alarms, and IoT applications.

Features:

  1. Integrated digital PIR sensor for reliable motion detection
  2. Electromagnetic shielding for stable performance
  3. High/Low level digital output (REL signal)
  4. 12-meter detection range with SB-F-02 lens
  5. 120° horizontal sensing angle
  6. OEN enable pin for light sensor/auto control
  7. Adjustable range and response speed
  8. Ultra-low standby current (<12μA)

Package Includes:

1 x SmartElex BS612 PIR Motion Sensor Module

1 x Fresnel Lens(SB-F-02)

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
