The SmartElex NS312 PIR Motion Sensor is a high-efficiency, low-power digital sensor designed for human motion detection. It features an integrated pyroelectric element and digital control circuit, all enclosed in an electromagnetic shielding housing to minimize interference. The sensor detects movement through infrared radiation and converts it into a digital high/low signal via an on-chip ADC, offering reliable performance.

With a 10-meter sensing range, 120° horizontal angle, and <15µA static power consumption, the NS312 is ideal for battery-operated devices, smart lighting, security alarms, and motion-activated systems in home and industrial automation.

Features:

  1. Fully integrated digital control and PIR sensor
  2. Electromagnetic shielding for noise reduction
  3. Digital high/low level signal output
  4. Sensing distance up to 10 meters
  5. Wide 120° horizontal detection angle
  6. Compact 3×4mm sensing window
  7. Operates on low voltage: 2.2V – 3.7V
  8. Ultra-low static power consumption: <15µA

Package Includes:

1 x SmartElex NS312 PIR Motion Sensor

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
