MP801 gas sensor is for air quality, It adopts multilayer thick film manufacturing technology. The heater and metal oxide semiconductor material on the ceramic substrate of subminiature Al2O3 are fetched out by electrode down-lead, encapsulated in metal socket and cap. Conductivity of the sensor is affected by the concentration of target gas. The higher the concentration is, the higher conductivity of sensor gets. Users can adopt simple circuit to convert to convert variation of conductivity into output signal corresponding to gas concentration. Applications: It is used in occasions such as household and office for harmful gas detection, automatic exhaust device, air cleaner & etc.

Features:

  1. low power consumption
  2. simple detection circuit
  3. good stability and long life
  4. Small in size
  5. Detection Gas: benzene, toluene, methanol, alcohol, smoke
  6. Detection Range:0.5~1000ppm(alcohol)

Package Includes:

1 x Winsen MP801 Air-Quality Gas Sensor

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
