Multiplexer (Mux) and Demultiplexer (Demux) ICs are commonly used in digital electronics for data routing and signal selection. The TCA9543ADR from Texas Instruments is a dual-channel I²C/SMBus bus switch in a compact SOIC‑14 package. It allows one upstream SDA/SCL pair to be dynamically routed to one or both of two downstream channels via programmable control. The device features an active-low RESET input, two interrupt inputs with a shared interrupt output, and enables hot insertion with no glitch at power-up. Operating from 1.65 V to 5.5 V and between –40 °C and +85 °C, it is RoHS-compliant, free of SVHC, and rated MSL 1 (unlimited).
