To interface a 4.3-inch 480x800 RGB888 TFT display, you need a microcontroller that supports LTDC (for parallel RGB output) and DMA2D (for graphics acceleration). Suitable STM32 MCUs include: STM32F429, F439, F746, F769, H743, H750, H747 — all of which support 24-bit LTDC and DMA2D. An external SDRAM such as IS42S16400J or IS42S32800G is required to store the framebuffer, as the internal RAM is insufficient for high-resolution, high-color-depth displays like RGB888 (which needs ~391 KB for a single frame at 480x272). In this setup, LTDC continuously reads pixel data from SDRAM and drives the display, while DMA2D handles image rendering and format conversion, offloading these tasks from the CPU and ensuring smooth GUI performance.
