The QRE1113 Infrared Reflection Sensor Module Purple is a compact digital reflectance sensor designed to detect differences between light and dark surfaces. It integrates a QRE1113 infrared LED and phototransistor with a capacitor discharge circuit that produces a timing-based digital output for reflectivity measurement.
When powered, the onboard infrared LED emits IR light toward the target surface. White or highly reflective surfaces return more infrared light than black or low-reflectivity surfaces, allowing the capacitor to discharge more quickly. This operating principle makes the module ideal for line-following robots, edge detection, surface reflectance sensing, and short-range object detection.
The module is compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontroller systems and features a 3-pin 2.54mm interface along with a mounting hole for easy integration into robotics, automation, and embedded electronics projects.
