Muse Lab iCESugar FPGA Development Board Open Source RISC-V ICE40UP5k Icebreaker Fomu is a open source FPGA development board based on Lattice iCE40UP5k designed and made by Muse Lab. Though it’s small and exquisite, it contains rich peripheral resources on board including RGB LED ,Switch TY ,PE-C-USB, Micro-USB. Most of the IO are led out by standard PMOD connector and can connect with other PMOD device. Also, it has a on-board debugger called iCELink which is based on ARM Mbed DAPLink. You can just drag the FPGA bitstream into the virtual disk to program with a big convenience, since the iCELink supports drag-and-drop programming, USB CDC serial port and JTAG. The Muse Lab iCESugar FPGA Development Board provides developers with a compact yet resourceful platform while maintaining open-source flexibility. With its PMOD connectors, the Muse Lab iCESugar FPGA Development Board supports seamless peripheral expansion. Additionally, programming becomes effortless with iCELink, making the Muse Lab iCESugar FPGA Development Board ideal for FPGA learners and professionals.

Setup Guide

Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.

Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.

Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.

Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.

Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
