The LIS2DW12TR STMicroelectronics is an ultra-low-power, high-performance three-axis accelerometer from the "femto" family. It offers user-selectable full scales of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g with output data rates from 1.6 Hz to 1600 Hz. The device features a 32-level FIFO buffer to reduce host processor intervention and an embedded self-test function. It supports motion detection, free-fall, wakeup, tap recognition, and orientation detection. With very low power consumption (50 nA in power-down mode) and a high shock survivability of 10,000 g, it's ideal for wearables, motion sensing, and power-saving applications.

Features:

  1. Embedded Temperature Sensor: Monitors temperature.
  2. Self-Test Function: For sensor validation.
  3. Motion Detection: Android stationary detection, motion detection, free-fall detection.

Package Includes:

1 x LIS2DW12TR STMicroelectronics LGA-12(2x2) X,Y,Z LGA-12(2x2) Accelerometers ROHS

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
