The Hi-Link HLK-LD2420, 24GHz Human Presence Radar Sensor is a high-performance 24 GHz transmitter and receiver radar module from Hilink. Its human body sensing algorithm uses millimeter-wave radar distance measurement technology and advanced proprietary signal processing technology of the S3 series chips to achieve accurate perception of motion, micro-motion and standing human bodies. The Hi-Link HLK-LD2420 is mainly used in indoor scenes to perceive whether there is a moving or slightly moving human body in the area, and to refresh the detection results in real time. It has a maximum sensing distance of 8 m for the moving human body, can easily configure the sensing distance range, sensing sensitivity and refresh time of different intervals, supports GPIO and UART interfaces, plug and play, and is flexibly applied to different intelligent scenarios and terminal products.

Features:

  1. Equipped with a single-chip intelligent millimeter-wave sensor SoC and intelligent algorithm firmware
  2. Load the default occupancy sensing configuration, plug and play
  3. 24 GHz ISM band certified to FCC, CE, and NC spectrum regulations

Package Includes:

1 x Hi-Link HLK-LD2420, 24GHz Human Presence Radar Sensor

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
