The HaiWang HW-MD08, 0.5m-8m, Microwave Radar Sensor Module is a compact and cost-effective millimeter wave radar sensor module, designed for intelligent electrical appliances, security systems, and lighting applications. Operating at a fixed 10.525GHz frequency, it detects motion via the Doppler effect, offering precise sensing with high anti-interference capabilities. With adjustable sensing distance (up to 8m) and delay time, this module is perfect for security monitoring, smart home automation, and lighting control. It operates on DC 3.3V-5V, has low power consumption, and is suitable for environments ranging from -20°C to 80°C. The module is widely used in places like garages, corridors, and roads.

Features:

  1. Millimeter Wave Technology: Operates at a fixed frequency of 10.525GHz, ensuring precise motion detection with high sensitivity.
  2. Adjustable Sensing Distance: Sensing range from 0.5m to 8m, adjustable for different applications.
  3. Low Power Consumption: Requires DC 3.3V-5V input with a current consumption of less than 45mA, making it energy efficient.
  4. Anti-Interference: Resistant to interference from common technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and more.
  5. Repeatable Trigger: Supports repeatable trigger mode for continuous output when motion is detected.
  6. Temperature Range: Operates effectively between -20°C to 80°C, suitable for various environments.

Package Includes:

1 x HaiWang HW-MD08, 0.5m-8m, Microwave Radar Sensor Module.

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
