IR Reflective Sensor 2.0  module emits the infrared light and then detects if the echo received, to estimates if there is a obstacle or not. It utilizes a RPR-220 reflective photosensor modules, When no infrared light echo received, that is, there is no obstacle in front of the sensor, this module output logic HIGH, and vice versa. There is also an on-board potentiometer to adjust the sensitivity. IR Reflective Sensor 2.0 sensor is a basic and widely used part in applications such as line-following cars, rotary speed detection, auto data logging on utility meters.

Features:

  1. Infrared Reflective Sensing: Detects obstacles by emitting and receiving infrared light.
  2. RPR-220 Photosensor: Uses a reliable reflective photosensor module.
  3. Digital Output: Outputs a digital signal (HIGH/LOW) indicating obstacle presence.
  4. Adjustable Sensitivity: Onboard potentiometer for sensitivity tuning.
  5. Versatile Applications: Suitable for line-following cars, rotary speed detection, and other applications.
  6. Easy to Use: Simple digital output for easy integration.

Applications:
  1. Compact disk players, Copiers, Game machines,
  2. Obstacle Detection
  3. Office automation equipment
  4. watt-hour meter pulse data sampling

Package Includes:

1 x Crowtail- IR Reflective Sensor 1 x Crowtail 4 Pin Cable

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
