This Elecrow Crowtail - Current Sensor 2.0 gives precise current measurement for both AC and DC signals. These are good sensors for metering and measuring overall power consumption of systems. The Elecrow Crowtail - Current Sensor 2.0 measures up to 20A of DC or AC current. The ACS712 Low Current Sensor Breakout outputs an analog voltage that varies linearly with sensed current. To calibrate, first set the output offset to the desired level (with zero current on the sense lines, read output with a DVM). Then with a known current input (a 100mA limited supply works well for this), set the output deflection with the gain pot. Sensitivity is then calculated as (Vref - Vdeflect)/(current input).

Features:

  1. Light & Luminance Sensors: Detect light intensity.
  2. Vibration Sensor: Detects movement/vibrations.
  3. Voltage/Current Sensors: Monitors voltage and current in circuits.
  4. Collision Sensor: Detects impacts.

Package Includes:

1 x Crowtail- Current Sensor

1 X Crowtail 4 Pin Cable

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
