The DFRobot Gravity Factory Calibrated Laser Quantitative Methane Sensor is a professional-grade CH₄ sensing solution designed for researchers, environmental engineers, laboratory professionals, and academic institutions requiring accurate and quantitative methane measurements. Unlike conventional MQ-series gas sensors that provide only approximate readings, this advanced sensor utilizes Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology to deliver precise methane concentration data in %LEL (Lower Explosive Limit).

Factory calibrated for immediate deployment, the sensor eliminates the need for complex calibration procedures and provides reliable, publication-ready data with excellent repeatability and long-term stability. Its zero cross-gas interference capability ensures accurate methane measurements even in environments containing CO₂, ethanol, H₂S, or other gases commonly found in fermentation systems, wastewater treatment plants, biogas facilities, and environmental research projects.

Features:

  1. Advanced TDLAS laser technology for highly selective methane detection
  2. Factory calibrated for accurate quantitative CH₄ measurements
  3. Outputs methane concentration directly in %LEL for research-grade analysis
  4. No cross-gas interference from CO₂, ethanol, H₂S, and similar gases
  5. One-click data export to Excel and MATLAB-ready formats using SCI DAQ Module
  6. Plug-and-play compatibility with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and laboratory DAQ systems
  7. Long operational lifespan exceeding 10 years with minimal drift

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
