The DFRobot Gravity: BMI323+BMM350 9DOF IMU Sensor is a compact motion sensing module designed for robotics, wearables, embedded systems, and orientation tracking applications. It integrates a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer using Bosch BMI323 and BMM350 sensors to deliver accurate acceleration, angular velocity, and magnetic field measurements. Unlike standard 6-axis IMUs, this module provides heading-aware motion sensing for electronic compass and direction-based projects. Supporting both I2C and UART communication, it offers seamless compatibility with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other development platforms. Four selectable I2C addresses and three programmable interrupt pins simplify multi-sensor integration and event-driven applications. The Gravity connector ensures quick plug-and-play wiring, making the module an excellent choice for rapid prototyping, educational projects, and embedded motion sensing development.

Features:

  1. 9DOF sensor with accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer
  2. Bosch BMI323 and BMM350 sensor combination
  3. Supports both I2C and UART communication
  4. Four selectable I2C addresses for multi-device systems
  5. Three programmable interrupt pins
  6. Built-in motion event detection functions
  7. Gravity plug-and-play connector for easy wiring
  8. Suitable for Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and embedded platforms

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
