This breakout board provides a convenient way to start using the popular BME680, a Temperature, Humidity, Pressure, and VOC Gas Sensor Module. The BME680 is a low-power sensor that detects with high linearity and accuracy temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and VOC gas. It includes both SPI and I2C interfaces for reading the measured values using our preferred microcontrollers (e.g., compatible with Arduino, ESP8266) and single-board computers (e.g., Raspberry Pi). This high-precision sensor can measure humidity with ±3% accuracy, barometric pressure with ±1 hPa absolute accuracy, and temperature with ±1.0°C accuracy. Because of the accuracy in pressure, the sensor can be used to estimate altitude within ±1 meters! The gas sensor works by changes in its internal resistance, which is designed to be sensitive to changes in the concentration of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) gases. Although the sensor works great, it should not be used for any safety, medical, or finished product usage. All gas sensors require calibration for precision output.

Setup Guide

Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.

Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.

In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
