I don't think it is for food use, it is completely plastic and leaving aside that you don't know the type of plastic that is used (not all can be in contact with food) the wear of the pump itself
                                                                                                                    can cause, in the fluid that is pumped, the bomb itself and without knowing the material that is made, it can be very dangerous.Not recommended.

The pump can handle hot water but it does not mean that it is going to heat the water, it is used to recirculate water that another system is heating (solar panel, heater, boiler,...)

I have tested width several voltage. I found it does not work with 5 V DC. But it works with 8 V DC but of course less rpm-wattage-power than with 12 V DC.
